Hello Students,

I apologize for omitting the instructions for this lab. Here they are. You will need to do this activity with another person in your home.

The objective is to see if different parts of the body are more sensitive to touch than others. This is determined by spreading out the points of a pair of scissors with sharp tips or a compass and placing them on the different parts of the body indicated on your worksheet. The closer the scissor points are together, and you can still detect that it is two distinct points, the more sensitive that region is.

Start by taking a pair of scissors or a compass and keep the points together, gradually spread them apart and see if you can detect two pressure points. First guess, whether or not there are one or two pressure points and gradually spread the points apart to test, then see if you are correct. There are not really any right or wrong answers. Every person may be a bit different.

You can submit this with the taste sensitivity worksheet.

Have a good day!
