Q: is there a problem with the solution to Ex #10 in the CEMC Courseware

A: Yes, they have an error that leads to an incorrect root in the cubic equation. Since the x=1 root is the correct value for the minimum this does not impact the final answer, but the factoring of the cubic should be like this https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=4x%5E3%2B2x-6%3D0

Q (observation): In 3.6 #4b) some texts have 200 m and some have 180 m as minimum length.

A: This is true; however, it does not change the meaning of the question and they are not asking for calculations.

Q: 3.6 #7  How do we deal with the perimeter P.

A: P is perimeter. They don't give us a value so it could be any positive integer. Just leave it in the expression as P until it divides out.

Like this  (3x)/(3y)=x/y
