- Today we began with Free Writing: If you could create your own fantasy world, what magical elements would you include? Explain.

- Then, we began our new unit: The Magician's Nephew!
- We went over the responsibilities and expectations of the unit,
- You received your MN folders,
- We read an introduction to the Author, C. S. Lewis,
- And went over the Journal Assignment.
- Finally, we began to read Chapter 1 together.

- Today, we started with Daily Edit, continuing our article about Ellis Island.
- Then, we took up your Grammar Homework on pg.29-30 together.
- You copied down your Spelling List #4 and Dictation sentences (you can find the list below)
- Finally, you worked on your Spelling Homework:
a) Sort all your spelling words into their spelling category using a chart (ch/tur/sur/zur)
b) Find and write the definition of 10 of your spelling words.
c) Use the remaining 8 words in a sentence each to show its meaning.

Homework/Reminders:
- Spelling homework due on Friday.
- Spelling & Grammar quiz will be next Friday, December 14, 2018 (It will include the Spelling List #4 and Dictation, End Punctuation, Comma Rules #1-6, and Daily Edit). Please review throughout the next week!

- We completed our self and group evaluation.
- We continued with Grammar p.29-30, Exercise G (p.29), and Exercise A-B (p.30)

Homework/Reminders:

- Grammar is due tomorrow
